Jerome Alexander McKenzie was born on January 15, 1938. He was born to Elenor Marley and Ivan McKenzie in Mocho, Clarendon, Jamaica. He migrated to the United States in the early 1960’s. He then married his beautiful wife Laurel B. McKenzie on January 20, 1964. He owned several cleaners, but his passion was for the cleaners on Albany Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
Jerome and Laurel were members of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Brooklyn, before they retired and moved to Palm Bay, Florida. Once in Palm Bay, they joined the Church of Our Savior. Jerome also belonged to the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew. Jerome had many roles in the church until his passing on January 13, 2020.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Laurel; four children: Assneth, Arlene, Jackie, and Richard; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; one aunt and uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives, friends, and his dear church members.
