Jerry Hawkins Dorris, Jr. died on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Melbourne, Florida.

Jay was born on October 27, 1968, in Montgomery County, Tennessee, to his loving parents Jerry H. Dorris, Sr. and Carole Riggins Dorris.

Left in cherishing memories are his wife, Hollie LeMasters Dorris, and daughter, Hannah Elizabeth, of Palm Bay, Florida. In addition to his immediate family are sister, Anne Dorris Combs of St. Mary's, Georgia; nieces Kathryn Elizabeth and Allison Grace; extended family Yatin and Alanna Shelar; aunts Kathy Senkus (Neal) of Alexandria, Virginia: Joann Green (Steve) of Montgomery County, Tennessee, and uncles John Howard Dorris, Knoxville, the late Donald Ray Dorris, Clarksville along with many loving cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Byrns Riggins and Lillian Cayce Riggins; paternal grandparents, Lewis Howard and Gladys Dorris.

Jay obtained his childhood education from the Clarksville Academy and attended Madison Street United Methodist Church. He was a 1987 graduate of Clarksville High School where he was an accomplished tennis player for the Clarksville High Tennis Team and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from Austin Peay State University. He obtained his First Aid/CPR certification, certification from the American Safety & Health Institute, MOT supervisor certification-American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), Forklift Utility Truck certification and Workforce Development Department, Kentucky Community & Technical College System.

Calling hours for family and friends will be 5:00pm-7:00pm Monday, June 6, 2016 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
