Joan E. Mihok

Joan E Mihok, 90, of Barefoot Bay Florida passed away on August 1, 2023, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL. She was the widower of Stephen Mihok. They shared 39 years together and were married on February 14, 1953. After Stephen’s passing in 1992, Joan met Rocky Lofaro in 1994, and they shared 15 years together until his passing in 2009.

Born in Ramsey, New Jersey, she was the daughter of John and Dorothy Eaton and had 3 siblings. She graduated high school in 1951, and then worked as an office worker/clerk until she retired in 1995. She took the greatest pride in supporting her community, including other wives of Naval families. Her proudest moments are her marriage to Stephen, and the family they created as a result of that marriage.

She was a member of Calvary Chapel of Sebastian and multiple quilting groups including Seaside Peacemakers, Sun Stitchers, and her Church quilt group. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, spending time with her family, going on cruises, and spending time with her group of friends. She will be remembered for her love of her family, her faith, and her friends, which gave her the strength to lead her through many health battles. She was the proud matriarch of a beautiful family and was always the person others turned to in their time of need.

She is survived by 4 children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren through her marriage to Stephen. Through her time with Rocky she gained the love of his 4 sons and their families. She was predeceased by Stephen Mihok and Rocky Lofaro.

The graveside service will be held on August 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Fountainhead Memorial Park, with interment also at Fountainhead Memorial Park. The viewing will be held from 12:30 pm to the time of the service.
