Born on June 25, 1935, in Passaic, New Jersey, he was the son of John William Mitchell and Judith Johanna Weinhold. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University, then served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked for R.T. French Company, then was a partner at M&M Marketing. He’s been retired for 26 years.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who inspired each to reach their full potential. He attended all of his children’s sporting events, always encouraging and supportive. He shared his mechanical skills, knowledge, and passion for automobiles with his children, was an avid baseball and football fan, and had a comforting smile and gentle demeaner. He had a love of cars and animals, particularly basset hounds.
Jack is survived by his wife Lois Elizabeth Mitchell, children John William Mitchell III (Anne Elizabeth), Stephen Gregory Mitchell (Teresa Melinda), Claudine Marie Stueve (Eric Lynn), and James Matthew Mitchell (Angelleic), grandchildren Brian James Mitchell, Brandon Thomas Stueve, Nicole Lynne Stueve, Andrew John Mitchell, and Jacqueline Anna Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, his sister Isabelle Harriet Mitchell, and his beloved basset hounds.
