He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Before retirement, he worked 28 years for Kearfott Navigation and Guidance Corp., presently a division of Lockiteed Martin, as an engineering associate. Prior to that, he worked 20 years for Allen B. Dumont as an engineering aide.
John attended Fairleigh Dickson University. He was active in all sports, and played semiprofessional baseball in Northern New Jersey Leagues. He played for the following baseball teams: Clifton Dodgers, Wallington Cardinals, Wallington Jinx, and Athenia Drazens.
Survivors include his niece Mrs. Linda Shagg of Pennsburg, PA. He is predeceased by his sisters Irene Tripp Howes and Ida Brandal; nephews Robert D. Santi and Will Tripp of Vero Beach, FL; and lady friend Gen DeBree of Vero Beach, FL.
John will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at the Chapel of Peace in Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock St. SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 at 12:00 PM on January 6th, 2016.
