Joseph Peter Charles Lamontagne, age 85, passed away the morning of October 29th, 2024, joining his parents and sister Gloria Carangelo. Joseph was born on April 13, 1939, in Biddeford Maine to Philosere Lamontagne and Helena LeBreton. Joseph and his sister Gloria Carangelo are survived now by their sister Theresa Hutchins, who still resides in Maine. Joseph and Linda, his wife of 56 years, started their life together in Middletown Connecticut where they worked at the Whitting Institute. They moved with their daughter Celeste to Palm Bay Florida in October of 1982, shortly after he began working as Engineer Specialist at Harris Corporation where he excelled due his hard work, dedication, and common sense approach to problem solving. Joseph served proudly in the military for over 21 years, serving close by his brother-in-law Albert Carangelo while in the Air Force before joining the Army and serving in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Joseph later served with his son-in-law, John Borneman, in the Florida Army National Guard where he was known by his fellow Soldiers as Sergeant L.A. With a strong mind for creative thinking and a big heart for helping those in need, his passing is a heavy loss to those who have survived him. His wife Linda Lamontagne remains here in Palm Bay close to their daughter Celeste and son-in-law John Borneman. Joseph’s loving son Christian Weber resides in Germany with his wife Karin and Joseph’s eldest grandson Heiko. Even separated by so much distance these four have kept each other close in their hearts, for which we have all been grateful. He will be greatly missed by his wife, two children, Christian and Celeste and their spouses, brother-in-law Albert, sister-in-law Mary Brown, Sundy Tople who he embraced as his own grandchild and wife Lacey Tople, his grandchildren Heiko Weber, Joseph Borneman and wife Katrina Borneman, Baylee Borneman, Shane Borneman, as well as his great grandchildren Ryder and Aiden Borneman and Axel Tople.
Joseph’s Passing will be felt deeply in his community of loving neighbors, long-time friends, chief among them Kenny and Carol Faraci and Bill and Rhonda Boisvert, as well as his extended family of in-laws, especially to the family of Thomas and Mary Jo Borneman who he greatly enjoyed spending his time with. In remembering Joseph, we can draw strength in the way he made persevering a natural and mirthful act. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to research the cure for Alzheimer’s, such as the Alzheimer’s Association.
