Joseph LeFevre was born September 2, 1949 in Alameda, California to Dorothy Lorraine Conrad and Joseph LeFevre, Sr. The Army took him to Heidelberg, Germany, a move that would change his life forever. In the officer’s club at Campbell Barracks, he asked out a young Indian woman named Madhu, kindly offering to teach her English. Her response: “I could teach you English!” From that moment on, Joseph was in love and Madhu was always the center of his universe. They married and had two sons and proceeded to travel the world, living in Germany, England, California, Washington, D.C., and Florida. Joseph transferred to the Air Force and after he retired from active duty, he had a long career as a civil servant with the Defense Department.
Throughout his life, Joseph enjoyed several hobbies. He was a passionate billiard player all his life and built networks of fellow hustlers around the world. He loved his Harleys and spent many years on his Harley, often with Madhu in the back, traveling the countryside. His ability to find humor and the positive side in every moment endeared him to family and friends alike. He often said that no matter what happens, you have to be able to laugh.
Joseph enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Naya, and his grandson, Zane. While Joseph left us on June 27, 2024, he is remembered by his sons, his daughters-in-law, his grandchildren, his sister, and the many other relatives and friends from around the world.
