Colonel Joseph R. Tyler, Sr. retired, 78, passed away at home in Melbourne. Born on Oct. 7, 1932 in Water Valley, AR to James and Laura Tyler. Joseph graduated from Pocahontas High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years.
He leaves behind his dear wife of 55 years, Nana; children, Cindy (Jim) Tagg, Joseph Tyler, Jr., Christine Jarvis and Ruth Christian; brothers, Harold, Edward and Glen Tyler; sisters, Agnes Mayberry and Alice Pace and 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by three children: Charlotte Harrell, Carol L. Tyler and Mary Little; sister, Naomi Hogue and brother, Gerald Tyler.
Friends may call the Fountainhead Funeral Home, Palm Bay, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, burial will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
