love of her life, Dusty, on Monday, November 2,
2015. She passed peacefully at Jacob’s Ladder
ALF in Rockledge. Kay was born in Quincy, Illinois on
November 11, 1916, to Patrick Timothy Cochrane and
Mary Hazel Herndon. She moved to Monrovia, CA with
her family when she was a small girl. She graduated
from Monrovia High School in 1935 and in 1936, she was
crowned Miss Monrovia. She met Dusty while attending
big band dances at the Hollywood Paladium.They were married
in 1940. She moved to Melbourne, FL in 1960 when Dusty
was transferred from Edwards AFB, CA with The Boeing Company
to work on the Minuteman Program at CCAFS.. Kay was both a loving wife
and wonderful mother & grandmother. She never lost her
sense of humor. She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Rhodes)
Crockett and Donna Rhodes, son Ken, and her grandson
Alan Roberts (Denise). Memorial services will be held at
Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home,7303 Babcock Street SE,
Palm Bay, FL, 11:00 am Friday, November 6, 2015.
Donations in her memory may be made to either Wuesthoff Hospice
or Jacob’s Ladder ALF, both in Rockledge.
