His journey began March 14, 1927
He entered into rest June 13, 2020
Ken Died at home after a brief illness, with his daughter Debbie by his side. Hospice was there to help in every way possible to make Ken comfortable, a true blessing. There is comfort in knowing he has no more pain, fears or tears. He is with his Lord and Savior now.
Ken was a widower for Fourteen years following the death of his beloved wife, Arlene Fox, after 57 years of marriage. She was his whole life to him.
Kenneth was born in Akron Ohio, he was the son of Wade Fox and Edna Grace Fox. Wade Fox, Kens father was a highly decorated Marine in WW I. There are several newspaper articles about his bravery. He has many metals which we are all very proud of and would like to have displayed in a Veteran Museum someday hopefully.
Ken attended Vocational training School and took Stenotype, stenographer and dictation.
He enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country during WW II and was discharged in 1946.
He worked at Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant in Walton Hills Ohio for 30 years until he retired. He really enjoyed the last position he had with Ford as an inspector and metal finisher. He had a lot of friends at Ford. He was sad that they, along with most everyone else he knew had already passed on. He told some great stories about the olden days. I hope to remember them.
Ken was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose. He use to lead the rosary for the Knights of Columbus as well as take secretarial notes. He never would tell me what his initiation to join the Knights was. I’m Still curious?
He became Catholic before marring mom, Arlene Vandersa (Fox), as she was already Catholic. He never regretted it. They especially loved Saint Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio.
As a couple with three young children, Kenny Fox Jr., of N.C., Denise Brannan (Fox) of Ohio and Debbie Lowe-Groves (Fox) of Florida. They managed to dress the three of us up, especially nice at Easter, in brand new outfits. We'd get our butts off to church with mom and dad almost every Sunday when we were young. Ken is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
Ken's only sibling was Meryl Newbert (Fox) of Talmadge Ohio. She was a lot of fun to be with, her and my mom got along great. Unfortunately she passed away in 2018. Merrill is presided by her youngest daughter, Sally of Talmadge Ohio.
Some of the things I will miss most was my father’s sense of humor, his ability to speak with many different foreign accents, his honesty, love of nature, singing opera, telling stories of yester years, camping, boating, fishing, swimming, camp fires, ....the list goes on and on.
Here are some character traits about Ken that definitely made a good impact on a lot of people. I know he had an impact on Dee, Kenny & I, his siblings and some of his grandkids too. His appreciation of Mother Earth and all of God’s Creation (Nature). His crazy love for animals, especially doggies.
There's not many a man that I’ve know that were as honest as my father, even when the truth hurt. He was faithful to my mom and very compassionate for those who were misfortunate.
You will always be remembered, loved and missed pops.
May God Bless and keep you for all eternity,
I'll see you on the other side, give hugs to all our loved ones for me, especially J.C. : )
