Lawford J. Corlett, 79, of Palm Bay died Friday (3/1) at a local hospital. A native of Glasgow, Alexandria, Jamaica, he came to the Palm Bay area in 2003 from Long Island, New York. He worked in construction and was a steam fitter for the Steam Fitters Local Union No. 638. He was a member of Middle Island Baptist Church and the Loyal Progressive Lodge.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon and son Michael, Lawford's survivors include his wife: Muriel; four sons: Adrian of Simpsonville, SC, Stephen of Lynnfield, MA, Christopher of Palm Bay, Matthew of Melbourne; three daughters: Lorna Lawes of Queens, NY, Christine Travis of Roanoke, VA, Natasha of Connecticut; two brothers: Trevor and Owen both of Jamaica; two sisters: Pam of Canada, Joy Montoute-Jarrett of Montreal, Canada; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday (3/9) at 11:00 AM in the Fountainhead Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5 until 8 PM. Fountainhead Funeral Home is in charge of services.
