

Born in Cincinnati, he was the son of Baldwin Russell Bernard and Affa Coffey Bernard. He was the youngest of six children. He served in the United States Armed Forces. He graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He was employed at Martin Marietta Corporation as a data processing manger.
He was an avid coin collector and a member of a coin club in Melbourne, Florida. He also enjoyed traveling the United States by automobile with his wife, taking cruises, and visiting other countries. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an eternal optimist with a hardy robust voice.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, June D. Bernard; his children, Joan Pendergrass (Jeff) and Joy Crowell (Mark); and June’s four sons, George Huebner (Ruthie), John Huebner (Judy), Jim Huebner (Joyce), and Joe Huebner (Marta). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews as well as a handful of longtime friends and neighbors.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 a 1:00 PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida with interment directly afterwards at Fountainhead Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM till the time of the service.
