Lillian C. DeBetta, 91, passed away on April 17th, 2019 in Melbourne, Florida. She was the widow of George Joseph DeBetta whom passed away on April 7th, 2015. They had shared 68 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in Patchogue, Long Island, New York on April 4th, 1928, she was the daughter of John Cee and Elsie Elizabeth Micko. She graduated from Patchogue High School in 1945. Under her yearbook photo, it was stated that she was “talkative, had a friendly smile, was easily aroused, and had definite ideas”.
In her younger days, her husband and she would travel often. They loved to go out dancing too. Both also belonged to the New York City Transit Authority. Upon George’s retirement in 1976, they moved to Florida. She started to volunteer a lot once they had settled in, especially with the Red Hat Society and the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoyed doing ceramic projects and shopping. She will be remembered for her upbeat personality, always smiling and laughing. Though sometimes strict, her heart was always in the right place. She was very family orientated; her family was her world.
She is survived by three daughters: Faye Hall (Brad), Marlene Lubniewski (Gary), and Adrienne Martin (David); eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Janet. She is predeceased by both of her parents, John and Elsie; her husband, George; and a brother, John.
