

Heintze-Rector, Louise C. "Lu", 83, of Barefoot Bay died Tuesday (4/8) in the Viera Hospital. A native of Lake George, New York she came to the Barefoot Bay area in 2004 from the Niskayuna & Johnstown New York area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barefoot Bay. A very vibrant and active person, Lu was involved in many things around the Barefoot Bay area. She was active in the Barefoot Bay Homemakers group, volunteered at the church food bank, was an active member of the American Legion Post in Barefoot Bay as well as the Friday Tops Group. She had formerly been one of the members of the Red Hat group. Lu also spent many hours as a volunteer with the Honor Flight out of Melbourne.
Survivors include her husband: Melvin; son: Garth (Maria) Heintze of Schenectady, NY; four daughters: Gail (Fred) Scarano of Little Falls, NY, Linda Heintze of Halfmoon, NY, Darlene (Tom) O’Donnell of Rotterdam, NY, Dawn (Jeff) Friello of Pattersonville, NY; step-children: Sandra Vavruick of Gloversville, NY, Susan Hayes of Barefoot Bay, Thomas Rector of Gloversville, NY, Nancy Waddington of Ft. Myers, FL, Diane Henderson of Gloversville, NY, Kathryn Wren of Orlando, FL; grandchildren: Tracy (Dave) Young, Fred (Heather) Scarano, Jr, Christopher Scarano, Michael Scarano, John (Brandy) O’Donnell, Jennifer (Dave) Badalucco, Lee Ann Heintze; step-grandchildren: Debra (Tom) Clark, Joey (Meloney) Vavruick, Barbara Villa, Christine Matte, Hugh Henderson, Daniel Henderson, David Henderson, Chuck Waddington, Chris Wren, Mike Wren, Brad Rector, Mike Rector; ten great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
