Marie Carme Martha Jean, the daughter of Lucia Bruny Estinvil Jean, was born on April 13, 1924 in Saint Marc, Haiti. Raised in Port-Au-Prince Haiti, she attended grade school, middle school, and high school, then began a career as a seamstress. She later married Jean Baptiste Ulric Sanon and together they produced five children, Marie Rolande Wilson, Pierre Frantz Sanon, Jean Robert Sanon, Jean Claude
Sanon, and Kettly Sanon.
In 1974, Marie Carme immigrated to the United States and became a resident in the county of Brooklyn, New York. Soon she began work for the Sunny Home Care Project of Long Island, New York as an employee performing tasks in the areas of Home Health Aide and Certified Nursing Assistant. After a long and successful career in New York City, Marie Carme retired and relocated to the state of New Jersey where she enjoyed the task of helping to raise her grandchildren while continuing to practice her faith at Immaculate Conception Church, located in Hillside, N.J.
The year 2000 brought another milestone of change in the lives of Marie Carme, her daughter Mare Rolande, and son Frantz. Florida was in view as Marie Rolande, her daughter decided to relocate to Florida first, followed by Frantz and mom Marie Carme with another of her other sons, Jean Claude. Since that time, she has been enjoying life consisting of her family, especially the grand, great grands, great-great-grandchildren and her church St. Joseph Catholic Church. Our Lord God has been a mighty fortress in her life as she served him diligently until the end.
She also leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Sabine Sanon and Marielle Sanon; one son-in-law, Paul Wilson; fourteen grandchildren, Erick Sanon, Marcell Sanon, Lindsey Louis Sanon, Manouchka Sanon, Ernest Brown, Hensley Sanon, Dannie Sanon, Guy Robert Sanon, Bianca Sanon, Wildzsor Balan, and Katiucia Sanon-Penny, Kim Wilson-Whynn, Nathaniel Wilson, and Ashlie Wilson. There are twenty-four great-great grandchildren, two great-great-great grandchildren, and various nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws.
