

Marleata "Marlene" Ulery, age 84, passed away in Palm Bay, Florida on December 25, 2024. She was born on March 20, 1940 in Utica, New York to John and Orpha Palmer. Marlene was raised with her six siblings in Marathon, New York and attended Marathon Central School. She then moved to Florida in 1957.
Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a "second" mom to many others. She accepted everyone that walked through her door and treated them as one of her own children. Not only did she "adopt" the neighborhood kids, she would take in any stray animal. Marlene also enjoyed many years with the family horses as well.
You could find Marlene watching Days of Our Lives, playing solitaire, or teaching the children how to play Rummy just about everyday. She also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Conway Twitty, George Jones, and The Statler Brothers.
She is survived by her children, Randy Bennewitz, Denny Bennewitz, Tami Bates, and Penny Lacey, as well as seven grandchildren (Kristi, Hannah, Andrew, Natalia, Nicholas, Logan, and Sydney) and two great-grandchildren (Rhianne and Emilio). Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Lowell "Bud" Ulery, and sons, Curtis "Tinker" Bennewitz and Chris Bennewitz
A visitation for Marlene will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. A committal will occur Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
