Marlene “Minuche” Mauricin was born September 11, 1956 to Magella Augustin and Musset St. Dic in Puerto Prince, Haiti. Minuche was one who loved her family, she was a people person and was always surrounded by friends. She was always outgoing and full of life, but her love for the Lord has been her main drive in life. Since a young age, she loved the Lord and was very active in church, prayer groups, and missionary work. Minuche share many times of her exploits as a youth with the Holy Spirt where miracles, signs, and wonders were a regular experience. Her entire life was based on loving and giving of herself to God, family, friends, and even people she did not know.
Minuche migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1977 where she completed her education and later moved to New Jersey where she lived for more than 30 years. In 1981, Minuche married Wilson Mauricin. They have a daughter Marlyssa Jennifer Mauricin. She was a mother to many, particularly, Didine, Netty, Jerry, and Jimmy. During her time in New Jersey, Marlene met and touched many lives, some of whom are here today. She’s always cooking for people, joking, filled with laughter, and rarely angry. She had a big heart. Her love for God was serious, but not rigid and dogmatic. These characteristics are legacies she has left in the lives of all her children.
In 2007, Minuche and her family moved to Palm Bay Florida, where she continued to touch the lives of all who came in contact with her. Minuche was one who suffered with many medical issues for most of her adult life, but never let that stop her from living and enjoying life. You would never know how much pain she was suffering because she took it all in good spirit. On November 15, 2017, her medical condition finally came to a climax which eventually led to her death a year and a half later on March 15, 2019. Throughout that time, her love of life and will to live was strong that she was willing to do whatever it took to try to live. However, God was calling His daughter home. Minuche is no longer suffering. We will miss her laughter and larger than life heart. Heaven has gained an angel. Minuche will be remembered as a war, generous and kindhearted woman of God. She is survived by her sisters, brother, daughter, many nieces and nephews. We love you Tant Minuche, we will hold on to your legacy of love and pass it on to others who cross our paths.
