Merglen "Lynn" Goodin

Merglen Goodin, nee Guthrie, was known as Lynn to her many friends and family. She passed away at the age of 84 at her home in Palm Bay, FL. She was wife to Glenn Goodin who passed away 29 years ago.

Born in Hanover, Jamaica in January 1937, she was second of six children to Esslyn and Martel Guthrie. She moved to Long Island, NY then to Brooklyn, NY where she had her children Doan and Delano. She worked for New York University doing Data Entry. From there she moved to Palm Bay, FL in August, 1986. She worked for Harris, Holmes Medical Center, and Patrick Air Force Base before retiring. Even in retirement she worked the voting polls at her local precinct.

Lynn was a member of New Covenant Fellowship in Melbourne, FL, currently renamed Covenant on the Rock. She then moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Melbourne, where she remained a member until her death. Although she didn’t have much, she often helped others worst off than herself. She enjoyed working In her garden.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Goodin, her parents Esslyn and Martel Guthrie her brothers Ken, Leroy and Trevor.

She is survived by her children Doan Rose and Delano Goodin, her son-in-Law Daniel Rose, Granddaughter Denyce Rose, and siblings Pernell Guthrie and Eugenia Rattigan as well as several nieces and nephews.
