Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater of WWII and the Korean War. He worked for the Environmental Department of the City of New York and retired after over 25 years of service. He was a member of the FW and was a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America in New York.
Michael is survived by his sons Michael K. Grofik, and his wife Jamie of Indialantic, and Wayne Grofik of New York; his sister Mary Grazioso of Staten Island, NY; and his grandson Lt. JG Justin C. Grifik of Le Moore, California.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Ella in 2008.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 1-2p.m. with services following at 2p.m. Committal with military honors will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
