Nit and I met, along with our friend Tino, in the summer of 1975 during an army reserve training program. We were all Scarborough boys and become fast and life-long friends. We were together through thick and thin, even as we moved apart, we always stayed in touch. I last saw him during a recent business visit to Fort Lauterdale, when we met for dinner. It was like we were never apart. I will miss my comrade deeply. Anatol

For my beloved uncle...
As you all may know, my uncle was a great man. He was a man who had a loving, cherished, and charismatic personality. His characteristics were of such it allowed him to make new relationships with anyone he came across with. He touched everyone he met with his kindness and that awsome smile. He would always find some way to please his family through any given situation. He was a friend, son, grandfather, father, and uncle to myself and Senna. To me, he was the best uncle I could’ve ever asked for, especially coming from a family of all girls. I always felt safe around him. Mamoo dealt with his personal hardships, particularly his battle with cancer with such bravery. He would always find ways to make the best of any situation, no matter how hard it was. . Whenever I visited him I would always remember him in his favorite seat, flipping and glancing through channels, finding movies to watch. While watching those movies, I would peek over and see him relaxed with his hand behind his head, dangling his foot. As I reflect my time with Nit Mamoo, it gives me a happy feeling. I’ll definitely cherish the memories & time spent with my uncle . I will forever remember him helping me with my math homework while delivering pizza to the summer nights of watching him play BeJeweled while waiting for Paddy-mami to finish work. My uncle was a brilliant, hard working, and courageous man to his family. As a final goodbye, I want to personally say thank you Nitchananmamoo for your service in the military, being there for our family in bad times, and for always having the patience and strong-willed attitude in the duration of your battles. I also want to say, thank you for all that you had done for myself and mom. As always, I love you Nitchananmamoo.

Dear Lata,

As I witnessed you fighting the fight alongside your brother for the last several months, I could not help but feel and share your pain, despair and sorrow. I did not realize when unconsciously Nityanand's and all of your battle became my own. It has not yet sunk in that he has left us. But then again, did he really leave us? I believe a soul is never destroyed and it carries on in a peaceful and loving environment long after leaving the mortal body. I believe Nityanand is and will always be with those who loved him dearly. He is resting in a peaceful place, filled with unconditional love along with his spirit angels and watching over all of you.

May all of you find peace, healing and courage during this time.

To my one and only brother. Do you know how much we all love you? I’m so proud to call you my brother. Your sheer willpower to hold on until we were all together. I thank you . My heart is shattered. I keep hearing you call my name.
I’m so glad I got to spend some time with you. I’ll miss watching MSNBC and CNN and all our favourite shows together. Isn’t it funny how we both liked the same shows?
I’ll always cherish the wonderful memories. Remember our time in Barbados 🇧🇧? What a time that was! Remember when I was in high school and we had career day? You came to represent the Royal Regiment of Canada 🇨🇦. I’ve never been so proud to tell all my friends YOU were my brother! I’ll never forget our last Super Bowl with your Labatt Blue in hand!
I thank you for all you did for me. You are a very generous, thoughtful, caring and protective big brother. This is not goodbye. It’s just until we meet again. I LOVE you so very much Nityanand. You will forever be in my heart.
Your third sister Valini.
