Rebecca Deck Berrey

November 5, 1936 – August 12, 2025

Rebecca Deck Berrey, 88, of Rockledge, Florida, left us on August 12, 2025, with her trademark grace and a little bit of stubbornness — qualities that served her well throughout her life. She was born on November 5, 1936, in Florala, Alabama, and never lost her southern charm.

Beck is survived by her daughters, Rachel Berrey and Edie Burney (and husband Jim Burney — forever holding the title of “the favorite”) and; her beloved granddaughter, Amanda Melvin (the REAL favorite!); her much loved sister, Deborah Tuten; and many more family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She was a caring wife, a devoted mother, and — deep down — a farmer at heart. She could grow anything, but had a special place in her heart for her orchids. One of her most treasured traditions was making Christmas cookie houses with our family each year — a joyful celebration that brought everyone together and filled our home with laughter and love. She was an amazing seamstress, talented pianist, and had a beautiful, mellifluous singing voice!

Her life was rooted in kindness, hard work, and devotion to the people she loved most.

A private graveside burial will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
