Rene J. Longtin, 80, of Palm Bay died peacefully at his home Wednesday (10/9). A native of Blackstone, Mass. he came to the Palm Bay area in 1990 from there. Rene had been a foreman for the Miller Electric Company in Rhode Island and he also worked on small appliances. He moved to the Palm Bay area in 1990. Rene served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a protestant and was past president of the Lions Club. He also had been active in the Moose Lodge, the Sertoma, and the V.F.W. Rene enjoyed gardening, as long as his health permitted, music and wood working.
Survivors include his wife: Gail, two daughters: Joyce of Palm Bay, Laurie (Brien) Martinetty of Palm Bay; two sisters: Dorothy Kross of Cumberland, RI, Faith (Henry) Gaudet of Woonsocket, RI; three grandchildren: Ian Martinetty, Ashley Martinetty, Kelsey Tousignant; and two great-grandchildren: Ethan Martinetty and Serina Sirman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
