

Richard Alan Boas passed away peacefully at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL February 7, 2018. He was born in Ridgewood, NJ to Roland Thomas Boas and Laurette Bloudany Boas on July 24, 1954.
Richard was raised in Wyckoff, NJ and spent summers at the family home on Goose Creek in Toms River, NJ. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Marketing and Business Management degree, and he owned and operated Goose Creek Carpentry for many years in the Toms River area of New Jersey. An avid carpenter and millwright he enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He created and tied his own fishing lures.
In 2010 Richard moved to Sebastian, FL which allowed him to care for his parents in their final years.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Laurette and father Roland T. Boas. He is survived by his cousin Edward Earl Boas, Jr. and wife Penelope; nephew and godson Edward E. Boas III, all of Chesapeake City, MD; nephew Clarke D. Boas and his wife Kari and sons Jaxon and Connor of Cecilton, MD; and niece Meredith Elyse Williamson (née Boas) and her husband Christopher, son Colton and daughter Macie of Hudson, FL; cousin Laura Elizabeth Simpson (née Boas) and her husband Martyn of Celebration, FL; and cousin Randall Tolbert Johnson and his wife Sonja and son Reese of Kerrville, TX.
He was surrounded by wonderful and devoted friends Gerry, Mike, Rick, and Jimmy and their families in his Sebastian, FL neighborhood. Many thanks for their help, friendship and support to Richard and our family.
Thank you to the medical staff and nurses in the Sebastian Medical Center for their support and professionalism during Richard’s final days.
