Roger Albert Peck, 79, retired steamfitter (Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #51), passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Born on February 20, 1940 in Providence, Rhode Island to Albert B. Peck and Bertha H. (Thorton) Peck. Roger graduated from Hope High School in 1959 and then served in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division. He worked as a steamfitter for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He lived in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and retired to Melbourne, Florida. Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Elaine (DeMattos) Peck and his brother Kenneth Peck. Survivors include: sister Marjorie Peck McKenna, brother Edward (Ted) Peck and his wife Jan, brother Donald (Don) Peck and his wife Sally, sister-in-law Yvonne Peck, son Joseph (Jay) and his wife Maureen, daughter, Donna and her wife, Kate and his granddaughter, Brianna Mello, and numerous very dear nieces and nephews. Roger also leaves behind many loyal and loving friends including Brenda and Mark Buchweitz who stood by him through thick and thin along with Fannie, Lacey and the entire Long Doggers and Chekmarc’s restaurant crews. The family is so thankful to all his friends who were like family, including Nancy Piakis and the staff at Century Oaks Assisted Living. In better days, Roger was president of Classic Reflections Car Club as vintage fords were his hobby as was supporting children’s charities. Once your address appeared in his book, forever more a Christmas card would dutifully greet you to remind you he had you in his heart.
