Roger Sipes, 78 passed away peacefully Saturday October 9, 2010 in Melbourne.
He was born in Bloomington, IN June 13, 1932 the son of Seabert and Stella (Henderson)
Sipes. He graduated from Bloomington High School and attended Indiana University.
Roger served his country in the National Guard.
He has resided in Melbourne since 1963. Roger loved cooking and was a chef all of his
career. He worked at Lee’s Charcoal Pit and afterwards Operated Rog’s Restaurant for
many years. He than worked at Ethel & Fred’s Family Restaurant.
Roger loved Football, especially the Dolphins and also Golf and playing cards with
family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Fran) Sipes, his three sisters; Wilma Wampler, Delores Wright and Patricia Burks;
his seven children; Theodora “Teddy” and her husband Fred Welman, Linda and her
husband Paul Young, Tricia Courtright, Elizabeth “Becky” Ruttledge, Roger “Bucky”
Sipes, and Kenney Sipes and his wife Tabatha. He is also survived by his daughter in
law Sheryl Centkowski, 16 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his son Sean Centowski and his Granddaughter, Missy
Jo Young.
The Visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday October.12, 2010 from 1:00 until
the hour of the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home 7359
Babcock St. SE Palm Bay, interment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
