House. A native of Stantonsburg, NC, Ruby moved to FL after a brief time in Georgia in 1978.
She worked as a medical transcriptionist for Medquist before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist
Church of Melbourne. Ruby will be remembered most for her cooking and how she always took care of
others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Merritt.
She is survived by her 2 sons: Christopher Lee Merritt of Melbourne and Michael "Reid" Merritt of
Melbourne; sister: Ann Bass of Stantonsburg,NC; and one grandson:Mason Lee Merritt.
A visitation will be held Tuesday (12/3) at 1PM followed by a service at 2PM at Fountainhead Funeral
Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to William Childs Hospice House and The First Baptist Church of
Melbourne.
