After graduating from Cleveland Heights High School in 1952, she moved to Melbourne, Florida with her mother Helen, and stepfather, Charlie Reeves. She worked at Winn Dixie in downtown Melbourne, where she met her future husband, Joseph Earl Isom. They were married on June 12, 1953, and lived in Palm Bay, Florida where they raised their four children. Sally accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Palm Bay, where she and Earl and faithfully served for many years.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a kind and generous soul, always thinking of others first. Her greatest passion in life was caring for her family. It brought her great joy to cook and host family gatherings. She loved to begin each day with long walks while praying for family and friends along the way. She would often say, “I don’t know how people do life without Jesus”. Sally worked at Brevard Christian School, as a substitute teacher and aide, as well as, a cafeteria supervisor, but we all knew her real reason for being there was to keep a close eye on her grandchildren who attended there.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Isom, and her brother, Dick Clucas and wife Shirley. She is survived by her children; Debbie and husband John Lucas, Mike Isom and wife Debbie, Nancy and husband Steve Holder, Melinda and husband Dean Corns; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her brother Chuck Reeves and sister in law Mary, as well as many nieces and nephews. All of whom love her dearly, and whose lives will forever reflect her beautiful legacy of loving God and loving Family!
A celebration of life service for Sally will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Life Point Church of Palm Bay, 1420 Sportsman Lane NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905.
