Sandra (Sandy) Jeanne Thompson January 25, 1943 - May 11, 2020

Graduated from Earth to Heaven

Sandy was born in Attleboro Massachusetts January 25, 1943 to Kenneth and Ruth M. Conrad. Jesus, her savior, took her hand and led her home to Heaven on May 11th, 2020.

Sandy worked for Harris Corporation in Melbourne and Palm Bay Florida as a Quality Control Engineer retiring in 2008. She was part of Harris projects which enabled the United States Space exploration, Satellite Communications, the Stealth aircraft and other important projects we will never know about. Her job called for her to travel extensively across the United States. In Sandy’s travels she made lifelong friends, touched many souls, and led many people to Christ.

She was an active member of the Tabernacle Church of Melbourne for many years, through her ministry she had Bible studies in her home, through the prison ministry she coordinated cookie drives for youth prisoners and encouraging letters to adult inmates. She made time to teach children with special needs to read. She had a heart for those who were hurting and dedicated her life to ministering to many people one-on-one. She relocated to San Antonio Texas where she was a faithful member of First Assembly of God and Faith Assembly of God in Orlando Florida, as she would travel between the two cities to see her children and grandchildren.

It was common for her to reach forward touching the person in front of her during service and sharing a word that would touch their soul. God loves her so much and so do we. I remember one of the first times we were at Faith Assembly in Orlando, Mom reached out to a young lady and told her Jesus loves her. The young lady wept softly as my mom led her to Christ. This is exactly how my mom’s ministry was throughout her life.

She leaves a legacy of love to her family: Marty her sister (Bud); Daughter: Marcia, (Jeff); Son: John (JoAnn); Grandchildren: Bryce, Zachery, John Daniel, Joshua, Jacob and Abigail. She also leaves an example of deep faith in Jesus her savior for the family to follow and because of the joy of the Lord in her life many lives have been enriched.

Sandy was a mighty woman of GOD; what a treasure we had in our lives.

Some of the things she said she was most glad she tried were, writing, fishing, reading, crafts of all kinds and even riding a horse.

When asked why her life was blessed she said, “I have family who love me - even though I am far from perfect”.

A celebration of her life will be held at Faith Assembly of God 9307 Curry Ford Road, Orlando Florida 32825 on Saturday June 6th from 11:00am – 12:00pm in the Chapel. All are welcome to attend in person, or on-line via the live stream video at the following link https://faithassembly.org/online-campus/

I love you mom!!

I met mom in 1981 after Marcia and I started dating. She became my second mom and I learned so much from being around her.

She could do just about anything and there were times when she would help Marcia and I celebrate our anniversary by bringing a special dinner to the house and making our evening so special.

She was always so giving and her love for the Lord far exceeded her needs in the world. She was such a beautiful example of a wonderful mom who did her best and loved to serve others and her Father God.

She was always on our side, always loved Marcia and I and while we know she is dancing in heaven we will miss her so much until we are able to be together again one day because of our savior Jesus!

It’s a blessing to have shared part of my life with you mom, you will live on through Marcia and I in all the loving thoughts and memories in our hearts forever!

Your son, Jeff

Mrs. Sandy. Precious Mrs. Sandy!
She was such a precious soul! My favorite memories were our lunch dates at Jim’s.
I felt so happy to spend time with someone so willing to listen to my stories and who demonstrated such a genuine love for my whole family. She always made me feel she was excited to see me as much as I was and my kids remember her warm hugs. Last time I saw her, we had such a deep conversation. She told me she loved me a lot, hugged me tight and said that she would go to Jesus soon. I treasured that in my heart and only shared it with my friend Dolly Thomas. That was the last time we saw each other in person. I will never forget my sweet friend. We will see her in heaven some day!! I love her so much!!

John and JoAnn,

Please accept my condolences. I know she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and that brings comfort to us all. May God's peace that surpasses all understanding surround your family and you. Our loss is Heaven's gain for sure. I am so blessed that I was able to know her while she lived in San Antonio.

My dear sweet Sandy, she spoke so much love and wisdom into my life and her hugs always felt like they came straight from heaven. I was blessed to know her and love her. A few days ago I dreamt I walked into a room and she was there and In my dream she was happy, healed and whole. she got up from a table and walked over to me and gave me a huge hug. Someday we shall meet again my friend!! Much love to all.
