Sanford Ford Rivenbark (his friends called him Ford), 70 years old, passed away on 15 November 2018 at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home on Stack Boulevard in Melbourne, Florida. He died from colon and liver cancer. He was the husband of Evelyn Louise Rivenbark. They shared 40 years of marriage.
He was born in Vero Beach, Florida on 19 March 1948 and was the son of Ford Sanford Rivenbark and Louise Elsie Rivenbark. He attended college and was employed by various contractors in the Melbourne and Palm Bay areas where he also lived. He was a finish carpenter and he built cabinets, stairs, final interior frame work, drywall, exterior frame work, roofing, tying steel for driveways, and other actions too numerous to list.
His biggest regret was that he did not buy a medium/small sailboat and take his family on trips up and down the river.
He was in the United States Marine Corp from September 1967 to September 1970.
He enjoyed being on the river and visited small islands on the river near Grant, Florida. He loved to sit and just view the river and ocean. He and his family enjoyed all of these activities together. Ford had a sense of humor and he often made his family and co-workers laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rivenbark; son, Jason Stansfield; son, Michael Stansfield (Sarah); sister, Shirley Melson; sister, Sandra Bobo; brother, Kent Rivenbark; and many nieces and nephews. There are no grandchildren, but he enjoyed Evelyn's cat. He is pre-deceased by his parents and grandparents.
Viewing will take place on Monday, 26 November from 5 - 7 PM. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, 27 November at 2 PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
Flowers will be accepted; however, donations to your local food pantry may be made if you prefer. Thank you to the Palm Bay Hospital, as well Vitas hospice, for their selfless service the month Ford was in their care.
