The Fleischmann- Cohen – Dimermanas families announce with great sorrow and grief the passing of their father, and grandfather Mr. Shlomo Siegfried Fleischmann., a resident of West Melbourne, Florida and a pillar of the Brevard and international Jewish communities. Mr. Fleischmann co-founded with his late wife Mrs. Edith Fleischmann the radio program “The World from a Jewish Perspective” which aired for 18 years on WMEL. A Holocaust survivor and a staunch supporter of Israel, he broadened and tightened the relationships between the Jewish and non-Jewish communities; through numerous lecture series at schools, universities, synagogues, churches, the armed forces, radio and TV appearances. In so doing he advanced the world’s understanding of human rights and humand dignity and of the right of Israel to exist. Mr. Fleischmann, also a retired IDF officer, fashion designer, author, and stain glass artist spread his love for people and peace throughout his long life. The funeral services will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home Chapel, at 7359 Babcock Street, Palm Bay, FL. 32909 at 11:00 am Sunday, January 12, 2014. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Yad Vashem, The Martyr’s and Heroes Remembrance Authority P.O. Box 3477 Jerusalem, Israel 91034.
