Simon was a graduate from Lawrence Tech in Detroit with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He worked for McDonnell Douglas at the Kennedy Space Center for years. After leaving the Space Center, Simon went into private business owning Blumberg Cabinets in Merritt Island and Melbourne. He was on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Rita of Bristol, Tennessee, Ted of Johnson City, Tennessee, Brian of Bayville, New Jersey, Michael of Las Vegas, and Mark of Orlando; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 29th. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 30th at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
