Valarie M. Stewart

Valarie M. Stewart, 89, passed away on January 14, 2025 in Palm Bay, Florida. She was the wife of Horace Stewart. They shared 49 years of marriage together. They met In Jamaica, and were married in New York in 1967.

Born in Little London, Jamaica, she was the daughter of Ernest Campbell and Evadney Williams. She graduated from Secondary school in Jamaica, as well as earning an associate’s degree in Accounting from Manhattan University. She worked at Little London and Santa Cruz Post Offices in Jamaica. She was also employed at AT&T (which later became Lucent Technologies) in New York City and worked there for over 20 years.

She was a member of Church of our Savior in Palm Bay, Florida, and before that United Methodist Church of Palm Bay, being part of the choir at both churches. She enjoyed traveling, playing board games, singing, baking, reading, knitting, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her sweet personality, smile, and amazing love for all those she came in contact with. “What an incredibly loving woman,” is what everyone who knows her always pointed to.

Valarie was a friend and like a second mother to many. She was known for making all sorts of special drinks and food dishes for friends and family as one of her many love gestures. She always put everyone ahead of herself.

She is survived by her son Richard, and his wife Miranda, plus grandchildren Ava, Jayden, and Brianna.

The funeral service will be held on February 21, 2025 at Noon (viewing at 11am) at Church of our Savior, 1000 Jersey Lane NE, Palm Bay, Florida 32905, with interment at the Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock St. SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to one of two ministries that she supported heavily; her son's ministry, Fire in Action Ministries (947 Sierra Place NE, Palm Bay, Florida, 32907), and/or her home church, Church of our Savior, 1000 Jersey Lane NE, Palm Bay, Florida 32905.
