Viola L. Hughes, 87, of Melbourne died Saturday (3/9) at a local hospital. A native of Methuen, Mass she came to the Melbourne area from Lawrence, Mass in 1988. She had retired from AT &T where she was an electronics technician working in the gold plating unit. After moving to the Melbourne area she became an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church as well as the Quail Run Activities Club where she organized many group trips, the Bowling Groups and the Auquacise, as well as other activities.
She is survived by her two sons: Donald of Melbourne, Robert of Londonderry, NH, two granddaughters: Neala Hampton of Baden, IL, Stephanie Childs of Missouri; and one great-granddaughter: Kayla Hampton.
Funeral services will be Thursday (3/14) at 11:00 AM in the Fountainhead Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park. Fountainhead Funeral Home is in charge of services.
