Married to wife Frances, they shared 50 happy years of marriage.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, he was the son of Martin and Josephine Leary. He graduated from Fairfield University where he earned a teaching degree. He enjoyed teaching sixth grade at K.T. Murphy Elementary School and Dolan Middle School. He retired from teaching after over twenty-five years to spend time with friends and family. While visiting friends in Palm Bay, Florida they fell in love with the location and decided to move there to enjoy their golden years.
William was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed many wonderful years and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. He enjoyed reading and spending countless hours playing solitaire or scrabble on his computer.
He is survived by his daughter Cathy, his sons William, Jr. and Michael, William Jr’s. wife Margaret and their children Kaitlynn and Sean, and Michael’s partner Kimberly.
Services will be held for both William and Frances in their hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut.
