Palm Bay, FL- Zarita Joy Pearson, 89, of Palm Bay, FL and
Monson, MA passed away Nov 28 2010 in Palm Bay FL
surrounded by her grandchildren and dear friend Robert Ackroid.
“Joy” was born in Perth, Western Australia on June 15 1921 to
Walter Fredric William Saunders and Vera Rose (Wilkinson)
Saunders. She was married for 61 years to Grady Lee Pearson
and had one daughter, Carol Lee Budaj-Howard. After Grady’s
discharge from the US Navy, the family eventually settled in
South Windsor, CT. Upon their retirement, they wintered in
Palm Bay and summered at Partridge Hollow Campground in
Monson, MA. She is pre-deceased by her husband and daughter.
Joy leaves her sister Madeline Rose Harvey of Perth, Western
Australia, her grandsons Paul Michael Budaj and his wife Rebecca
of Palmer, MA and James Donald Budaj and his wife Jennifer of
Beverly, MA, and her granddaughter Cheryl Lea Budaj and her
husband Roman Woronowicz of Sudbury, MA. She also leaves her
cherished great grandchildren Michael Grady, Pearson James and
Kamila Joy. She also leaves her friends in Rainbow, Eastern Star,
Daughters of the Nile and Order of the Amaranth. She also leaves
her many dear friends at Partridge Hollow campground. The
family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Nursing Rehab
and William Childs Hospice House both of Palm Bay. There will
be a memorial service at The Church of Our Savior in Palm Bay
on December 11 at 11AM for the Florida community. A memorial
service will be held at Partridge Hollow this spring for her New
England community. Memorial contributions may be made to any
Shriners hospital of your choosing.
