Barbara was born on July 26, 1942, in Chicago, IL to Walton and Evelyn Powell. She married Gary R. Roush on July 29, 1972.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, his siblings and their spouses, her parents, and her stepdaughter, Colleen.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Ford of Palm Harbor, FL, grandson, Christian Prieman of Akron, OH, grandson, Alex Ford of Princeton, IL, granddaughter, Kelsie Ford of Palm Harbor, FL and grandson, Matthew Ford of Palm Harbor, FL. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters; Beverley Humes of St. Joseph, MI, Betty Howe of Lisle, IL, Barry (Mary) Powell of Carol Stream, IL (winters in Dunedin, FL), Bruce Powell of Chicago, IL, and Bradley (Sharon) Powell of Port Charlotte, FL. Also surviving is her Goddaughter/niece, Sherri (Steve) Mitchell of Naperville, IL, and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Barbara cherished the role of being an Aunt/Great Aunt and Grandma.
Barbara was known for her good-natured sense of humor and love of laughter. Barbara admired the following quote and it is a good reflection on how she lived her life, “Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness you are able to give.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
Services will be held later this summer in the Manlius/Princeton, Illinois area so that Barbara can be laid to rest next to Gary.
