Major Carmon Harris, 86, was promoted to glory on Sunday, January 17th, 2021. Carmon proudly and dutifully served God and The Salvation Army throughout her life. After years of being Corps Officers, Carmon and her husband, Gene, began working in the Adult Rehabilitation Center in 1973. She also obtained her R.N. to help with her work within the ARC. Then, in 1998 they both retired to her hometown of Brainerd, MN to be closer to her family. Carmon is still well-known and loved among the Salvation Army community.
Carmon is survived by her two remaining children, Pam and Rod; her siblings Betty, Dolly, Karen, and Jerry with whom she could call her closest friends. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Carmon is now reunited with her late son, Bruce, and her late husband, Gene.
A memorial service will be held on February 13th, 2021 at 11am at the Salvation Army church 3800 9th Ave N, St Petersburg, across from the main library.
