OBITUARY
Joseph Michael Cortese
January 19, 1984 – March 30, 2021
On Tuesday, March 30th, Joseph Michael Cortese passed away suddenly at the age of 37 years. He is survived by his mother Suzanne Yacyk, by his sister Melissa Nielsen, and his brothers Michael and Alex Cortese. Joseph will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Joseph was known as “Joey” to his friends and family. He was born in Edison, New Jersey and lived there until he was 10 years old before moving to Clearwater Florida in 1994. Joey was the first in his family to go to college, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of South Florida. Joey was a music guru with quick wit and a passion for deep conversations. A self-taught guitarist who loved a jam session, concert or music festival. Joey had a song lyric or quote for any situation. Joey was a true friend that created life long memories with countless souls and loved everyone for who they were. He had an unmatched sense of humor and was effortlessly cool. Joey was always there to lend an ear or shoulder to cry on.
Everyone who knew him will miss him forever and remember him with a smile.

You left us to soon Joey, you had so much to offer. Your memorial attended by many also showed that you were loved and admired by family and friends. You touched many and many are grateful that their paths crossed with yours, you will be missed and never forgotten.
