I shall always remember and cherish the day our family of four met Amanda and her family of four.  It was April 23rd, 1977. We met at Death Valley Airport at Death Valley, California.  Each family had a  boy and a girl of almost the same age and each family was interested in flying and camping.  Our family had flown there for a gathering of Bellanca pilots, while Amanda's family with Al also a Bellanca pilot and their children Adam and Alicia had driven there in their pickup and camper. Each family immediately took a liking to each other.  While the children played together, Al and I checked out the planes that flew in. Meanwhile, Amanda and my wife, Jane also observed the activities going on while supervising our children at play. Our family had flown there with a small tent and no food. We had planned on hiking to a nearby restaurant. Upon learning that, Amanda insisted that the four of us join the four Pontius's  for a supper she was preparing in their camper.  We accepted her gracious offer and that was the beginning of a lasting friendship.

Our family will always  cherish the memories of our friendship and connection with Amanda and her family.

You are in my heart and  memories will forever remember.  Thank You.
