On Saturday, October 10th, 2020, Evelyn Iris White of California City, CA, great friend to many and mother to one daughter, passed away at the age of 83. She was surrounded by her immediate family during her final days, in the comfort of her own home.
Ev was born on April 11th, 1937, in Boone, Iowa, to Tom and Geneva (Hall) Hudson, and had six siblings. She was very passionate about her job, and made a very successful career as a Food Activity Manager at Edwards Air Force Base, CA, managing over 15 different facilities at the same time. She eventually retired from AAFES after 30 years of dedicated service, and was an exceptional cook. She enjoyed baking cookies, pies, and several special meals for close friends and family. After retirement, she would often bake cookies and take them to the gate guards on base to thank them for their service. She was always doing kind things for people in this way. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand-daughter Sydney, where they would spend time baking cookies, dying Easter eggs, or whatever the occasion would bring.
Ev was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Tom, and sisters Frances and Donna. She is survived by her devoted daughter Marni, grand-daughter Sydney, sisters Rita, Mary, and Maxine, and a wide and loving family consisting of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Ev chose not to hold a memorial service, but suggested to those who may wish to leave a contribution in her memory to please donate to the American Cancer Society. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and knew her well.
