Dang Gordon.   I just learned about your passing today.  I asked your good friend Myron where u were since I wasn't able to find you on Facebook and he told me what happened to you.  I know you didn't deserve it.  You were the most welcoming, most funny, smartest guys that I knew.  You were one of the people that made MSU bearable, especially those long nights we spent working in the caf covered in food nastiness.  Lol. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to keep in touch with you over the years.  You have a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten.  You are definitely gone too soon.  

I only just learned of Gordon's death, and it breaks my heart. I can't help but mourn the fact that the world lost someone special. He was fiercely intelligent, devoted years to working with those in need, had a beautiful smile and a passionate bright laugh that warmed the heart. He taught me a great deal. He deserved another forty years at least.

Eternal rest grant unto Gordon, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

It had been a couple years since we had spoken, and I am shocked to hear this news.
In the brief time I enjoyed a friendship with him, Gordon immediately stood out to me as a special person. Every conversation we had was the type that would linger in your head afterwards, thought-provoking and deep. He had this unforgettable and infectious laugh, that you couldn't help but let in. Even in this sad moment, it brings me a smile thinking about it.
He was highly intelligent, kind, and trustworthy. You will always have a place in our hearts, Gordon.

Gordon I'm just finding out that you are no longer with us. I am deeply pained and saddened. You were like family to me over the past 10 years in San Francisco. I love you dearly always have always will.

RIP my beloved cousin. 
The work that you begun will continue. Someone asked why your death affected me as it did? I replied we had the same type of Spirit, I knew that  from the the first Facebook conversation! We didn't need to meet in person. We were indeed connected by blood, but also a spirit deep within us. These are only gifts that God can put in us. The gift was simple to help others. Some are called but few are chosen. Sometimes are gifts takes us down in the dumps. How better can we aid or understand others less we have been there physically. Cousin I will continue to to the work that God instilled in me. I will continue to allow your spirit and drive to motivate and push me when I'm weak. Rest in eternal peace.

Brother how i love you with all my heart.I dont even where to begin with describing the kind of brother you were to me.Me being four years older than you i would sometimes throw my authority around when we wers younger lol (Big Sis thang)I was so proud of your academic success ive never met a person more intelligent then you.JR you loved learning and also loved to teach.You had so many talents and i was so proud when you decided to take your talents to East Lancing Michigan.You have always had this unbelievable drive about you and i admired that.I will never forget our MTV Real World addiction lol.I will never forget the Thanksgiving when you sent for me to come spend it with you in the Bay.I will always remember our talks and you always seen to sides to every conversation we had.I know you were proud of me and what direction i was taking my life to and thanks for your encouragement.I love and miss you immensely not a day go by and will not go by that i will not think about you and hear your voice.I love you,Your big sis Kisha...

I met Gordon at M.S.U.  He was the first person to help me really appreciate the world outside of Michigan.  Although I have family from California, he helped me really understand how things were on the West Coast and that ultimately-even with our differences-we're actually all more alike than we realized.  Our deep conversations (and debates!) all throughout the 8th floor of Hubbard Hall are something that I'll always treasure and remember fondly.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and loved ones.  

I knew Gordon at MSU and remember him as a wonderful, friendly person. I am deeply saddened by his loss and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. 

Though we hadn't spoken in years, Gordon is one of the best human beings I have ever met.  Albeit brief, and many years ago, he had a profound impact on my life.  Gordon, thank you.  I am a better person for having known you.

Gordon was a passionate individual with a smile and a helping hand for everyone.  He was always willing to listen with an open mind and heart.  His MSU friends and I will always and forever remember him for the great person he was.  My deepest condolences from the Berger's to the Phillips family.

I will miss Gordon deeply.  I met him in college at MSU and we were very close during our time there and after.  He was such an amazing person and an amazing friend.  My heart is broken.  My prayers and sympathies to his family.

I worked with Gordon at MSU and always enjoyed his infectious laugh and huge smile. Thinking of his family and friends during this difficult time.

Gordon was my suite mate at MSU my Freshman year. He was such a friendly guy and always great to be around. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gordon's loved ones. It's been a real long time, but I can still see that smile.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gordon's family. He was a friend in college, I will always remember Gordon smiling everytime I saw him.

I was friends with Gordon in college and we remained friends. I will always remember his laugh and kindness. I have great memories with him. I'm so very sorry for your loss. My prayers and condolences.

Gordon was a brother, a mentor, a listener, a teacher and fellow Spartan. The late nights we sat up talking and dreaming still today have so much impact on me. One of the smartest people. I will never forget him. I love you, Gordon!

I am so sorry to hear of this.  I knew Gordon when he was a student at MSU and as an student employee.   He was a wonderful guy...  so sad.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
