I have so many fond memories of Greg! We first met at UC Riverside and had applied to UCLA's engineering program at the same time. He was the only person I knew from UCR when we transferred, so we spent a lot of time together studying for tests and helping each other with homework. I remember his sarcastic sense of humor, and he always made me laugh no matter how stressed we were. We both found out, at the same time, about the UCLA/NASA internship program, but we also discovered that we were about a month too late to apply for it. Greg and I appeared in Dr. Levine's office to plead our case as to why he should admit the two of us into the program even though we were late. He told us, flat out, no. Neither one of us would take no for an answer, and we simply asked him where the meetings for the program were, as we were going to show up no matter what. After much back and forth, Dr. Levine relented and allowed us in! The rest is history, as we both had very happy careers at NASA due in large part to Greg being dogged and persistent. 

I left NASA after 8 years, and I deeply regret losing contact with Greg over the years. I know he had a long and successful career with NASA. Greg will truly be missed.

My heartfelt condolences to Greg’s family and friends. I was greatly saddened to hear of his passing. He was a perceptive and creative engineer who was an asset to NASA Dryden. He took the initiative to involve me in one of his projects, which is something because of how green I was at the time. Believe me, he did all of the engineering heavy lifting with that. Besides being a work comrade, he was also a great desert camper, a spur-of-the-moment adventurer, and a daring appreciator of the venison jerky which I sent to him in the years after Dryden. He is greatly missed.
