Jaime Lorez Somersall was born on December 21, 1962, to James Gregory Somersall and Eunice Delores Kindle. She was raised in Pacoima, California, and proudly carried her Valley girl spirit with her wherever she went. She was a beloved sister to Ronald, Chris, Donnie and Renee, and a devoted mother to Jenika, Raychel, Joshua, and Jonathan.
Jaime moved with her heart first. She had a smile that could brighten every room she walked into and laugh that was impossible not to catch. Her kindness was immeasurable, her generosity came naturally, and she was the kind of person who would give her last to someone in need. She moved to the beat of her own drum, unapologetically and beautifully.
She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and had a way of making an impression simply by being herself. The love she poured into those around her will continue to live on through her children, siblings, family and everyone blessed to know her. She loved to cook and cooking was one of the many ways she showed people she cared and everyone who had the privilege of eating her food knew there was something special about it. She also loved to dance and groove, especially to smooth jazz.
She loved watching her stories and had a weakness for sweets. That woman loved her some candy! These little things may seem simple, but they are the memories her family will hold onto- the things that made her laugh, made her roll her eyes, and made her unmistakably Jaime.
And if you knew Jaime, you probably heard her say, "I'm a survivor." But now those words mean something different because Jaime was a survivor. She carried strength, resilience, and faith and reminded the people around her of those things in her own way.
Above all, Jaime loved her family fiercely. She gave generously, loved wholeheartedly, and lived life as herself. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Though her physical is no longer with us, the woman she was and the love she gave so freely will remain with us forever.
Rest peacefully our angel.
