James Dewayne Harraway was born on January 12, 1958 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. James passed into the loving arms of God on October 19, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in West Covina.

James grew up in the Bronx on Webster Ave. Once his mother moved from Winston Salem North Carolina, he attended Public School 121, Junior High School 113 (Evander Childs),Manhattan Community College ITT and the University of Phoenix where he earned his Bachelor and Master Degree. James joined the military (Navy) on 3/29/1974 he worked as an Electrical Equipment repair person and continued his career in the Navy until 6/24/1975 under honorable conditions. He moved from the Bronx in 1990 to California where he lived in many different areas such as Northridge, Van Nuys, Palmdale and then Lancaster. James lived in the Antelope Valley for 24 years.

James's brother Scottie had introduced James to his beautiful wife Elizabeth in 1986. Soon after James became saved and a Christian called by God as a prophet. He was married for 33 years and had one son Pierre James Harraway together with his wife Elizabeth.

He invented a new Dialysis machine and patent. James worked at the Veterans Administration from 1976 until 2003. James was Bio-Med Technician equipment repair, engineer, Business entrepreneur, a father husband and a man called by God. James loved to pray, laugh, sing and swim. His special accomplishments: win the lost to God,build up people and invent.

Proceeded in death by: His grandparents, and his parents: Marshall Jones and Marie Harraway, and his brother Michael Harraway. Survived by: Elizabeth Harraway (Wife) of Lancaster, CA, Pierre James Harraway (son) of Lancaster, CA, Tanikqua Harraway (Daughter) of Bronx, NY, Adel Flores (Daughter) of Bronx, NY, James Harraway (Son) of Bronx , NY. . Five grandchildren, brothers Scottie and David Harraway three aunts, one great aunt and one uncle. Also a host of nieces and nephew's, cousins and friends.

James was larger than life. He was passionate about everything he did especially the things of God. He had faith to match it. Cookie Our prayer are with you and Pierre. Someday we all have to cross that river to join our brother and hear well done. James is up there rejoicing with Jesus!

My Deepest Sympathy to Mrs. Harraway , Scott Harraway and the Family. I never met James personally, but Scott spoke so often about him in the office; until it seems as if I knew if. He will truly be missed by his youngest brother .

Remember my older brother Jimmy showing me the way growing up teaching me how to be a Survivor. We was 6 years apart in age. But he was not just my big brother but a friend. I will missed him. When I got the news my brother passed I called my brother David we cry on the phone for 2 hours. Liz left me a message on my cellphone. My heart was broken in a thousand pieces. I loss two brothers in 3 years. I remember James for your jokes making me laugh 😆 God needed you to come home he never wrong. You suffer a long time with your health no more pain. Love you big bro.

OMG !!I always had the best laughs and times with Brother James ! 😂Especially when he told me stories about his time at the Christian camp and how he’d say “ Please a deaf ministry , we ain’t need no deaf ministry because every deaf person was healed!! 😂😂And he would laugh with that booming laugh of his!! Will Miss You! FCF! Favorite Cousin Forever!! ❤️

James was like a Big Brother to Me and My Sister's Lisa And Jackie he hung out with our family he had a beautiful soul as well as his mother Mrs Marie and his Brother Micheal who went on home to glory before him, he will truly be missed rest on the clouds big brother and if you see greg tell him hello for me..God Bless your Family My Family will be praying for you..
