James Howard Moore Jr.

James (Jim) Howard Moore Jr, age 82, passed away on July 23, 2023, at his home with family by his side. He was born in Delano, CA on July 2, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Moore Sr and Katherine Peacock Moore, and his grandson Robert Hazlewood Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Joyce Howell Moore, his son Jim Moore III and wife Danise, his daughter Kim Blesener, and stepdaughters Shelley Moore, Denise Hess, Cheryl Rogerson and husband Clint. Also surviving Jim are his sisters Nancy Gibbons and husband Jim and Dea-Dea (Crystal) Moore and husband Jeff. Other survivors in the family are his grandchildren Alexis, Brandon, Nicolette, Bryan, Cydnee and 8 great grandchildren.

Jim graduated from Delano High School and while there excelled in baseball. After graduating he began his journey as an electrical contractor and owned his own company. Later in his career he worked as a Division of the State Architect Inspector for the LA School District. After retiring Jim and Joyce enjoyed traveling the United States in their motor home.

In March of 2022 Jim made the decision to convert to Catholicism and was baptized into the faith. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on August 25th at noon at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Palmdale, CA.
