Jermaine Anthony Marshall was born in Lancaster California on August 14th 1981 to Joyce Ann Green and Oscar James Marshall. On November 3rd, 2020 Jermaine passed away at the age of 39. Even though an unexpected death took him away from this world, his presence has left a beacon of light for all that knew him.

Jermaine aka Bear also known as Scrap was a protector, very bodacious, charismatic, with a smile out of this world and a unwavering fearless heart. He comes across as quiet and reserved maybe even shy, yet he kept people rolling in laughter because he would find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. He was smart mouthed and boisterous but if he loved you he loved hard. His interest included football (sports), socializing, and eating (he loved fried rice lol). Yet we all know Jermaine was no saint, but he did know the Lord. The love of God was deeply rooted by is grandmother (Joann) by her God fearing Spirituality and Prayers.

As I went through his bible I stumbled across some highlighted readings. There were two verses that Jermaine had underlined that I would like to share with you all: (1)"When this tent we live in ---our body here on earth--- is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.” (2) ”The only time most people think about eternity is at a funeral, and then it's often shallow, sentimental thinking, based on ignorance. You may feel it's morbid to think about death, but actually it's unhealthy to live in denial of death and not consider what is inevitable. Only a fool would go through life unprepared for what we all know will eventually happen.” Those words nearly stopped my heart from beating. It's painful yet joyful knowing that he was in preparation battling a spiritual warfare. Jermaine was in transition, for the betterment of self mentally and spiritually.

Jermaines mother Joyce Green preceded him in death and he is survived by his Father Oscar James Marshall, children Jazalene, Jermaine jr., Alaysa, Maitae, King, granddaughter Tru Love and Life partner La Rhonda and children, his aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, cousins and host of family and friends.

His courageous attitude and bright smile will be missed throughout many households and neighborhoods. God Bless

Growing up , you have always been there , you have always been that father to me , 22 years old and I can say you have showed me allot in my growing ages , and can’t no one say other . I love you and I know you love me . Happiness was in the air and being there for me and caring about every decision I made can’t nobody compare to that . It’s been hard lately to not see your face on video chat , or in person it’s been hard to not receive that text from you out of the blue saying you love me .. Words can never describe the pain, but I was honored with your kind heart, the ability to forgive and forget, and stright forward, but most of all your dedication to those you loved. Yes times were hard, but you keep going. God has bigger and better things for you, stay pushing us to strive for our dreams. Fly high, I will always love and miss you.
Psalm 34:18-19 The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope. Good people suffer many troubles, but the Lord saves them from them all.
