Louis "Lou" Arthur Plourde Jr.

Louis "Lou" Arthur Plourde Jr., age 74, of Sunland, California passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2021 in Panorama City. Lou was born November 5, 1947 at La Brea Hospital to Louis, Sr. and Lorraine (Pichette) Plourde. Lou grew up in Sunland and attended school at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary, Mt. Gleason Junior High and Verdugo Hills High School, where he met his future wife, Georgeann (Jacks) Plourde who he married in 1967. After High School, Lou entered the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Sargent and was awarded The Nation Defense Metal and earned his sharpshooter with an M-14. Lou was Honorably discharged in 1970 and soon after began work at Terry Lumber, where he worked for 43 years. Georgeann and Louis had two sons, Louis Gerard, born in 1974 and Jason Harvey Born in 1977. Lou could best be described as a homebody, but enjoyed coaching the boys Kiwanis baseball teams at Sunland Park over the years, taking trips to Las Vegas with Georgeann and spending time with extended family and friends. Lou is survived by his sons: Louis (Ileana) and Jason (Nina), granddaughters Makena Joann, Malia Andrea and Georgia Ellen, sisters: Diane, Denise, and Elaine, brothers: Richard, Don and David as well as his extended in laws on the Jacks and Plourde sides and many nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patti and his beloved wife of 32 years, Georgeann who passed away in 1999.
