Watsie B.Counts passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 with her family at her side. She was born in Panhandle, Texas on May 13, 1926. She was the first child of Faitha (Jennie) Lantron and William Tudor. She had 3 younger brothers and 10 half siblings. She was the last survivor.
She married her teenage sweetheart Jesse Counts in 1942. They were married over 67 years.
She was a welder during WWII. She worked as a teller at Bank of America at Edwards and Lancaster.
She was an accomplished artist painting a mural in the baptistery at the Church of Christ in Quartz Hill where she was a member. She also painted a mural on the outside of the garage at their house on 15th Street around 1960. Both are still there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse and daughter Jessie Mae (Jimmi) Morrow. She is survived by daughters, Janice Caler, Linda Servetnick (Alan), and son Phil (Barbara). She is also survived by grandchildren Coleen Harbaugh (Joe), Floyd Caler, Kathy Bailey, Harold Morrow (Mona), Mike Morrow, Jason Counts, Brandon Counts (Cynthia), and Austin Counts. She had 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Joshua Memorial Park at 11:00am.
