Zeno J. Poirier, 93, of Palmetto, Fl. passed away peacefully on February 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Dillon Meyers. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, Zeno moved to the U.S. as a child. He was a WWII Army veteran and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. After retirement he moved to Palmetto. Zeno volunteered over 6,000 hours with the Manatee County Blood Bank as well as the Manatee Hospital thrift shop. Zeno was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Smith in 2002.
A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 11, at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Palmetto, Fl. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Cross Youth Outreach Program, 505 26th St. W., Palmetto, Fl. 34221.
