Sergio Ernesto Venegas Flores, husband, father, grandfather, auto mechanic, and enthusiastic gardener passed away peacefully at the age of 77 surrounded by his wife and two loving daughters on July 19, 2024 after a courageous, brief battle with pulmonary disease.
Sergio was born on August 20 1946 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. He loved spending time with his grandkids, had a beautiful garden, He excelled at growing everything he planted in his yard. He was a lover of anything ocean related, he couldn’t live without his homegrown chiles, coconut water, and avocado. He was a great cook and loved visiting family in Mazatlan.
After coming to the US, he worked as a mechanic and became a master technician. He met his wife Blanca in Los Angeles. Sergio and Blanca went on to have two children, Giselle and Blanca. His daughters and wife never had to worry about fixing anything because he could do it, “as long as I am here”, he would often say “just call me and I’ll fix it.” He was once heard saying, “I can fix anything except your Mom.” He was a kind, loving, and patient man. We only recall him losing his patience with the squirrels and gophers that came into his yard.
Sergio is survived by his wife Blanca and his daughters Giselle and Blanca, his grandkids, Jacob, Becky, Nikki, and her husband Chris. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
